THIS WEEK - Dark turned light. Ari has lined up a speaker panel of non-profits (Ronald McDonald House, Hide in Plain Site, Military, Backpack Society, Help and Hope, and IFCS) for those who are interested in attending.
Last Week - Jon Hirst, Why Languages Are So Valuable and Bright Futures Sponsorship Committee Update
Jon, Director of Program Innovation for SIL, focusing on language and preservation of language provided an interesting description of languages in the world. Their goal is to help languages build a foundation, develop dictionaries both paper and texting keyboards, and create resources to mobilize language. For more information, www.sil.org or Jon_hirst@sil.org.
Tamie and Tom McHugh provided an update on the Bright Futures Sponsorship Committee; our goal this year is $75,000, to date, 22 Rotarians have pledged $47,650 and this is just the beginning! Tom encouraged those who have not pledged to consider what they spent last year on live and silent auctions, wine pulls, etc. and consider adding that amount to your pledge. Tom will call in a few months indicating where to send your HRRF check. Congratulations to Mike Foss winning the wine pull.
Congratulations Guy Caves, our new Treasurer beginning July 1.
