Mindy shared stories regarding her entry into Rotary (her Dad is a Rotarian and she was in Interact and RYLA in high school as well as Rotaract under Jan). Mindy has practiced as a chiropractor for the past 7 years in Washington, California, and now Colorado while focusing on nutrition and natural alternative means for better health.
Bright Futures Fundraising Gala - Saturday, Oct 6th, 5:30-10:00pm, Marriott South Park Meadows
Debby Doig shared flyers on each table describing the upcoming gala including what it supports and the sponsorship levels as well as donation receipt forms. Please give your sponsorship checks to Tom Keyton.
In her talk, Debby stated in the 12 years of galas we have reached nearly a half million dollars in net!! KUDOS Highlands Ranch Rotary Foundation!! 2017 was the first year we grossed over $100,000! That's a lot of planning and teamwork! Debby also shared 55% of those in attendance last year were not Rotarians or anyway affiliated with Rotarians; those 55% made 45% of the money!! Let's start thinking of our friends outside of Rotary who may enjoy attending this year.
Finally, a THANK YOU to our major Benefactor, The Wilford Foundation, Jerry and Goldie Wilford.
Steve Miller described how the money gained from the Gala and annual peach sales is spent and who governs the spending (6 member Board of Trustees). Please give Steve any requests for the Foundation.
NCOA Golf Tournament
By Chuck Giebel
In recognition of their service to our country, Highlands Ranch Rotary Club ran its annual Non-Commissioned Association Golf Tournament at Ft Carson on Friday, May 18th. The event provided 43 soldiers to a complimentary round of golf and Dove ice cream bars. The soldiers, service ranging from 3.5 to 18 years, are involved in all occupations (helicopter-mechanic or pilot, radar operator, logistics & support, F1 engineer) and find golf as a way to relax thus their collective abilities to make those 300 yard drives…WOW! We will always be grateful to our military and can sleep soundly knowing that they are always working to keep us safe. “We are always happy to see so many smiling faces and were glad the rain held off.” said Jerry Selinfreund. “We look forward to coming back next year.”
Thanks Li Liu for the great photos.

Spirituals Project Choir Visit
By Sue Bramley
A group of Rotarians took advantage of Art Jones' invitation to attend the concert of his Spirituals Project Friday evening at the Lamont School of Music. You'll remember he was the DU professor of psychology whom we had as a speaker a few weeks ago.
It was so entertaining, from the choir members entering and parading down the aisles shaking hands of attendees to the full-out gospel singing. It surely matched the gospel choir from Harry & Meghan's wedding!
Please join the Highlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Club for our regular meetings. The meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 8:30 am at the south campus of Childrens Hospital at 1811 Plaza Dr. Highlands Ranch. We offer a delicious continental breakfast ($7.00 for members and guests). We also have wonderful speakers you will enjoy. This is a great opportunity for a make up meeting or for potential members that cannot attend noon meetings. If you plan to attend, please notify Paul Campbell (paulcamp64@gmail.com) or Joel Johnson (jsjohns46@yahoo.com) a day in advance. We look forward to seeing you!!!
