Monica provided the history of Miss America and defined the 4 points on the crown: service, style, scholarships, and success. The focus has evolved to be "what can be accomplished through me", the next Miss Colorado/Miss America. Monica described her focus, "building strong girls".

Shrin provided an excellent opportunity to support Children's Hospital and have fun, TRIVIA NIGHT! April 14, 6:30-9:30pm, Hilton Garden Inn, 1050 Plaza Ave, 80126. Kids 14 and up welcome with parents, 6 people per team, $180 per team or $35 per individual, and includes light supper, beer/wine, and soft drinks. Register and pay online by Mar 27, childrenscoloradofoundation.org/events/SouthTriviaNight. If unable to attend, donations welcome at same website. Let's get some teams together.
Jane updated us on upcoming social events; a few more tickets are available for John Denver. Those of you who have not paid for your tickets please send to Jane ASAP. JAMLAC, Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic, fundraiser in May and possibly Kentucky Derby. (Kevin proposed, actually put forth $10 towards, competing for the best Rotary Derby hat.) July may include Friendship dinners as well as horse racing in August

Elizabeth Scofield, the new 'bag lady', described an opportunity to decorate paper bags (provided by Elizabeth) with hand drawings (no glued or pasted drawings/no political or religious drawings) for Project Angel Heartwho will fill the bags with meals for individuals with life-threatening illnesses. Look forward to picking up bags for your individual decorations and follow guidelines in email blast.
Applications for Rocky Mountain RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) 5450 and 5440 are available online,www.rmryla.org. RYLA is a life-changing leadership program where leadership skills and principles are learned, developed, and enhanced in an atmosphere of trust and respect. Eligible are incoming juniors or seniors for RYLA or incoming 8th graders for Young RYLA. In 2019 we supported 7 students for Young RYLA and 8 for RYLA; keep family and friends in mind for this awesome opportunity. RYLA Plus is a free leadership and teamwork development program August 2-7, 2020, for high schoolers with physical disabilities held at Easterseals' Colorado camp (Rocky Mountain Village, Empire, CO). Please join the Highlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Club for our regular meetings. The meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 8:30 am at the south campus of Children's Hospital at 1811 Plaza Dr. Highlands Ranch. We offer a delicious continental breakfast ($10.00 for members and guests). We also have wonderful speakers you will enjoy. This is a great opportunity for a make up meeting or for potential members that cannot attend noon meetings.
