Last Week

Pat McGuckin from the Denver SE Club joined us to describe the Woohoomanity Bike Challenge, inspired by the Ride to End Polio, with all monies going towards COVID 19 relief. This will be a District wide, Club led event where everyone raises money. Cyclist sign up for the Denver Century Ride, denvercenturyride.com, $75-99 depending on the number of miles (10, 25, 50, 85, or 100). The date will be 6/20 or 8/22; to be decided by the first week of May. Non-cyclist sign up for volunteer opportunities as a Club or per individual. The goal is 300 riders, Rotarians and friends. Update from Shrin regarding next quarter's dues:

The HR Rotary Board has decided the 4th quarter dues will be $60.00 for all members categories. This amount will cover the Club’s overhead expenses, which includes RI and Distinct dues and other Club operating expenses. If and when we start meeting at Lone Tree Golf Club or another location, members who will be attending those meetings during the reminder of 4th quarter will be charged for their meal. Members are encouraged to donate the balance of their regular dues to a charity of their choice or to our Bright Futures Gala fundraising effort. Invoices will be going out to all members with in next few days; contact me with any questions or concerns.

2020 NCOA Golf Tournament Update from Tom Keyton: The NCOA Golf Tournament is NOT physically happening this year due to the pandemic. In investigating other options to hold it this year, the golf course cannot provide a date before October (very
unpredictable weather). The tournament proceeds all go to the Crawford House.
Crawford House program provides safe emergency housing for veterans in the Colorado Springs area who are homeless and receiving VA-provided mental health care. Veterans are also accepted from neighboring states for the rehab program. The Crawford House program is the only program of its kind in Colorado; a private, non-profit veterans' residential treatment facility.
The Military committee will provide their monies for sponsoring the tournament. Since our club has been very supportive in the past, we are asking everyone who has played or sponsored military players and any new members who would like to support this cause to do it again to help the NCOA and the Crawford House. I will send out an email with the form to return to me with your check if you wish to participate virtually this year.
