LAST WEEK we learned about two hosting opportunities and Douglas County CSV

From Connie regarding HRRC Student Exchange Hosting Opportunity - "Our Club has a long history of hosting and sending international exchange students. Many of our members have hosted the students, have fond memories and have maintained friendships with them over the years. If you have ever been interested in being a host family or even just being involved with the program within the Club or at the District level, now is your opportunity! Help expand peace and understanding in the world, one person at a time!" Mary Kay shared her host experience with 6 students. The program will begin this fall.

Host Families Needed - Up With People Jan. 4 - Feb. 18
Beyah Rasool from Up With People joined us describing their international education program (15-20 countries) empowering young people and their significant need to find hosts (2 - 4 week intervals) for 80 kids and staff.
From Bev Mendel email: It is a convenient and fun way to learn about different cultures without leaving your own home - all you do is provide the young person(s) with a place to sleep, breakfast and dinner, transportation in the mornings around 8 am and in the evenings around 6 pm most days. We will be offering a regional shuttle service to transport students to and from daily activities. The cast is beginning their world tour here in Denver; they will spend most days learning their new show, learning how to spread the mission of Up with People, and getting to know their fellow cast members! If someone you know is interested in hosting an international participant or would like more information please contact Misa Grenier at 608-606-9694 or email mgrenier@upwithpeople.org with your name, phone and email. http://www.upwithpeople.org/

Stu Gentry - Douglas County Safety Patrol
Described the 62 CSV (Community Safety Volunteers) and how they support 12-13 full time deputies, CVS@DCSHERIFF.net.

Club News
Joe Roos from HIPS (HIPS provided worthy children, sadly more than they could take, for Santa Kohl's); Joe sent a thank you note I am unable to reproduce thanking Rotary, Kevin Mizer and "the lovely young lady" helping Ethan. "Thank you very much for allowing this little boy to participate and pick out some new clothes. Thursday is going to be pajama day and he will be able to wear his new holiday jammies! Thank you and God bless."   No other words needed....
