Jerry Wilford presented the following with Paul Harris awards:

Elaine Calderbank
Betsy Alexander, Paul Harris + one
Mark McNary, Paul Harris + two
Bob Martin, Shrin Murthy, and Li Liu Charter Members of the Paul Harris Society supporting Highlands Ranch Rotary, District 5450, and the Foundation.

CONGRATULATIONS to all! Our Club is ranked SECOND in giving to the Foundation!!

COSTA RICA
Phil Calderback updated the Club on what's going on in Costa Rica.  RCHR (Rotary Club Highlands Ranch) established a library in the town of Monterrey, Costa Rica. The books were purchased as a result of a grant from the Sue Fox Memorial Fund. (For more background see the story on Costa Rica which is on our Facebook page.)

In addition to RCHR, the library came about as a result of much hard work from the local Peace Corps volunteer, Jasmine, and the support of the Give a Book charity.

Jerry, Marion and Phil will be going back to the Library on April 26th. At that time Jerry will present a plaque and hopefully all three will leave their hand prints on the wall of the library with the children's.

Next trip to Costa Rica is in the planning for October. Please contact Bill Simmermon or Phil Calderbank for more details.

ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD, RYLA
Jan Keyton reported Young RYLA continues to be successful, however high school juniors and seniors are not applying as they have done in the past. “The whole complexion has changed”, sophomores are turning 16 and getting their drivers licenses and jobs. Jan has appealed to the Board and is asking for our support to get the word out. The Club can’t thank the Keyton’s and Marion Trummer enough for their continued support and contributions to RYLA.

2018 BRIGHT FUTURES GALA
This year’s gala will be October 6th again at the Marriott, our 13th year! Debby Doig is asking the Club for two things:
     - members to join the gala committee for an event that makes a remarkable difference
     - sadly, a member to become her co-chair, Debby says she is done!

THANK YOU Debby for your years of hard work and dedication, it has been greatly appreciated!
