Last Week - Allison Cusick, COVID-19 Recovery, Douglas County Community Foundation
Allison was joined by Donna Scott, DCCF Board Chairperson, describing the Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF). DCCF inspires generosity, establishes and manages charitable funds, and provides resources to enrich our shared lives and legacy in Douglas County, Colorado. DCCF serves as a catalyst to: champion awareness of the needs of citizens of Douglas County, inspire generous and thoughtful philanthropic action, and support nonprofit organizations serving Douglas County.
Their COVID-19 Recovery Fund will receive three rounds of funding (May - July) providing support for aging adults, individuals with disabilities, adults and children impacted by domestic violence, rent payment assistance, and food access. Per Jerry Wilford: there are 62 Clubs in our District, our Club is the 7th largest and the 5th in Club giving. WE ROCK!!
From Bev Mendel: Just when Rotary’s help is needed most, many Club fundraisers have been hit hard by COVID-19. We all want to do something to help out… but what? Fortunately, a Working Group of 21 Clubs has been developing a big new District-wide fundraiser. All Rotarians and Clubs are invited, and every dollar you raise goes to your Club’s service projects.
The Woohoomanity Challenge is for riders and volunteers… in other words, everyone! Ride… do the Denver Century Ride, with routes as easy as 10 miles. Or Volunteer… with friends or as a Club; be a course marshal, picnic and cheer, etc. Fundraise… the Woohoo website makes it easy to ask friends and family for support.
