Debbie Leonard gave such an interesting classification talk. After running the family business for almost 25 years, she got the opportunity of a life time...to work with John Maxwell, one of her heros. She's passionate about helping family business owners develop their next generation leaders and building a culture that brings out the best in people.

The Community Service Committee acquired and donated boxes of the book Mogie. It's the story of a dog who lives at the Ronald McDonald House. it took a bunch of Rotarians to prep the books with a Rotary sticker and repack - see how much fun you can have when you come early to a Rotary meeting!
THIS WEEK
Board members from El Pomavor will discuss their plans, of which we're a part! We'll also talk about Rotary's 'Plant a Tree' project, perhaps in Nicaragua?

PARTY PEOPLE WANTED...
Social committee needs a hand!
The social committee, headed by Steve Miller, is looking for volunteers. This is a big job, people, and Steve needs those of you who indicated an interest in socials to join him. It's a blast - dreaming up fun activities, finding venues, creating invitations and hanging out with club members at the event, what more could you want out of a committee! In the past we've done cool things like sports events, Broadway style productions downtown and in Littleton, Sipping & Painting, group dinners, etc. Basically the sky is the limit. So put on your 'party people' hat and step it up - Call Steve. He'll literally 'get this party started'!
Last Thursday was a red letter day for Paul Harris as Jerry Wilford inducted six new members, Nancy Arkin, Mark Brown, Phil Calderbank, Michael Foss, Neal Huffman and Paul Moots. Rotary's own version of Vanna White were there to pin the awards, that would be Connie Golas and Cindy Begley! To top that off, Shrin Murthy received a +1, Zig a + 4 and Kyle Kucharski +5. Elizabeth Scofield and Bob Larsen were recognized as Level 2 Major Donors. They're well on their way to joining Jerry in the Arch Clump Society! Jerry was given a standing ovation for the work he does with RI!
RI AWARD SUBMISSIONS
Jerry Wilford is asking for volunteers to assist him in writing award submissions to RI. Supplying RI with information on our activities keeps our club strong and up front and personal with RI. If you're interested, contact Jerry.
One of RI and our club’s commitments is to literacy. We revamped the program about 4 years ago into reading assistance for first graders at Bear Canyon Elementary. It thrived and last year we added a second school, second graders at Sedalia Elementary.
Now in our 4th year, we’re lacking volunteers. This is a wonderful, 1:1 program giving you a chance to really help someone in our own community. You’re always asking us for hands on programs, so we don’t want to let this go. BTW, same with Project Cure. Finding one-off volunteer activities is a challenge, which is why we’ve got these weekly/monthly commitments in place.
We have over 90 members. For the reader program, we need 4 people each month for 7 months – that’s only 28 people over the yearly course of the program. It’s this simple, we’ve got to get the volunteers or we’ll have to stop the program.
So step it up, people! We need people for Feb, March & April. Sign-up sheet is always out at the entry table. Commit to a month, it’s only an hour out of your day! We’ve got to keep it going in order to be in line with Rotary International’s goals. Talk about rewarding – these kids do nothing but benefit from our work here. If nothing else, it’s a great deposit in your own personal karma bank!
A get well soon goes out to Reen Gottern who is out of the hospital and resting at home!
