LAST WEEK
Nikki Booker - You Are Not Alone, Mom 2 Mom
Nikki, shared her heart wrenching story of why and how she began YANAM2M, You Are Not Alone Mom 2 Mom. YANAM2M is a non-profit organization with the mission to create a place where every Highlands Ranch Mom will feel safe, accepted, and valued. There are three components: a play date for kids; if requested, a support person assigned; and available Douglas County resources provided per individual Mom including community connections and partnerships. Monthly fund raisers & appearances are planned and available on the calendar at www.YANAM2M.org. Nikki stated in one year of service, 297 Moms have participated including providing services to 71 and support persons to 32.

Rotaraction
Katie Kelley, U of WY, Rotaraction Secretary and VP of College Relations (beautiful and accomplished granddaughter of Jan & Tom) brought us up to date on Rotaraction. A new online club open to 18-30 year olds no matter where they live and interested in serving their community. Members (7 and rising) meet on a weekly blog and give 4 hours to their local community. Direct that right young person you may know to www.rotaraction.org.
Hide in Plain Site
Joe Roos joined the meeting; in 2015 Joe founded Hide In Plain Sight (HIPS) to follow his passion to help homeless students overcome their adversity and provide opportunities for post secondary education, which in turn, will make these students competitive in the job market, gainfully employed and break their cycle of homelessness. HIPS partners with Colorado 4 year universities and 2 year technical and community colleges to provide post secondary scholarships for students that are at risk, homeless, or living in poverty. One of their most recent collaborations is with Colorado University - Denver Aurora campus where HIPS is joining in a living and learning project which will house and feed 13 homeless students. They also just awarded their 100th scholarship!
