Elizabeth Scofield, the new 'bag lady', described an opportunity to decorate paper bags (provided by Elizabeth) with hand drawings (no glued or pasted drawings/no political or religious drawings) for Project Angel Heartwho will fill the bags with meals for individuals with life-threatening illnesses. Look forward to picking up bags for your individual decorations this week.
Phil is looking for judges for the World Affairs Challenge, Mar 14, 8am - 3pm, Auraria Campus - Tivoli Turnhalle, 900 Auraria Pkwy, Denver 80204. Students will be judged on the value of their project on 'sustainability'. Inform Phil if interested. www.worldaffairschallenge.org.
Applications for Rocky Mountain RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) 5450 and 5440 are available online,www.rmryla.org. RYLA is a life-changing leadership program where leadership skills and principles are learned, developed, and enhanced in an atmosphere of trust and respect. Eligible are incoming juniors or seniors for RYLA or incoming 8th graders for Young RYLA. In 2019 we supported 7 students for Young RYLA and 8 for RYLA; keep family and friends in mind for this awesome opportunity. RYLA Plus is a free leadership and teamwork development program August 2-7, 2020, for high schoolers with physical disabilities held at Easterseals' Colorado camp (Rocky Mountain Village, Empire, CO). Please join the Highlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Club for our regular meetings. The meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 8:30 am at the south campus of Children's Hospital at 1811 Plaza Dr. Highlands Ranch. We offer a delicious continental breakfast ($10.00 for members and guests). We also have wonderful speakers you will enjoy. This is a great opportunity for a make up meeting or for potential members that cannot attend noon meetings.
